It's always a pleasure when a
breeding that you had high hopes for turns out to be everything you wanted and
this one is a good example. The first set of kids sired by Devonshire RK Ridley
(the first son that our Reserve National Champion GCH FDF Pleasant Fields
Remote) here at Devonshire Farm was a pair of twin doe kids in an off-season
breeding to GCH One Oak Hill Julep (dam to our 2003 Spotlight Sale consignment).
Both of these does freshened in Jan at 17 months of age within just a few days
of each other and we are extremely pleased with the results. Well attached
mammary systems with high wide rear udder arches and smooth well extended fore
udders. Jena (pictured on the previous page) has a little more of her
grand-dam's look to her with a deep body and flat topline while Julindy
(pictured at the right) more closely resembles her dam, Julep, being longer of
body and having a slightly longer bone pattern overall. Julindy has been reserve
Grand to her sister Jena twice this season and looks to finish her DHIR advanced
registry requirements with 2000+ lbs in the bucket in less than 300 days.
