It's always a pleasure when a
breeding that you had high hopes for turns out to be everything you wanted and
this one is a good example. The first set of kids sired by Devonshire RK Ridley
(the first son that our Reserve National Champion SGCH FDF Pleasant Fields
Remote) here at Devonshire Farm was a pair of twin doe kids in an off-season
breeding to GCH One Oak Hill Julep (dam to our 2003 Spotlight Sale consignment).
Jena freshened in Jan 2006 with a well attached mammary system that is high and
wide in the rear and smooth and well-extended in the fore. She then proceeded to
prove herself in both the showring and the milkroom by finishing her permanent
Championship in her first 3 shows out as a senior milker and by completing the
necessary DHIR requirements for advanced registry. We are looking foward to
seeing this doe freshen for the second time and getting her back into the
showring. We hope that she will be much like her dam and grand-dam with a long
productive and very competitive future ahead of her.
